Finestrat, 10 January 2025 – The Benidorm – Finestrat Motor Museum has announced the arrival of two new pieces to its exhibition from a private collection in Lithuania, attracting the attention of motor enthusiasts and experts. These vehicles are none other than two iconic models of the German brand Mercedes-Benz, dating back to the era of the Second World War: the military Mercedes 170 and the Mercedes 230. This announcement marks an important milestone in the history of the museum, significantly increasing the historical and cultural value of its exhibition.
**Mercedes 170 Militar: A witness to history**
The military Mercedes 170 is one of the most anticipated additions. This vehicle was used extensively during World War II by the German armed forces. Known for its durability and ability to adapt to difficult terrain, the 170 played a crucial role in various military operations. Equipped with a robust engine and powerful traction, this model was ideal for transporting troops and supplies in harsh conditions.
“The addition of the military Mercedes 170 to our collection is a dream come true for history and automotive lovers. It represents a crucial era and allows us to offer a more complete perspective of the vehicles used during World War II.”, said the museum director, Martín de la Herrán.
**Mercedes 230: Elegance and endurance in times of war**
The second vehicle to join the collection is the Mercedes 230, a car that, despite the circumstances of war, maintained the elegance and luxury characteristic of the Mercedes-Benz brand. Produced between 1937 and 1941, this model was known for its aerodynamic design and reliable performance. During the war, the Mercedes 230 was adapted to serve in various roles, from personal transport to ambulance.
Unlike the military model, the Mercedes 230 stands out for its ability to combine comfort with functionality in times of conflict. “The Mercedes 230 is a perfect example of how the automotive industry can adapt and evolve in times of need. We are fortunate to be able to display this vehicle alongside other historic models in our museum,” commented De la Herrán.

**A unique opportunity for visitors**
The temporary addition of these vehicles offers visitors a unique opportunity to explore a crucial part of automotive and military history.
“We hope that these new models will appeal to a wider audience and encourage greater interest in automotive history. Our aim is to create an educational and exciting experience for everyone,” the director added.
The Benidorm – Finestrat Motor Museum thus continues its commitment to preserving and celebrating the history of motoring, offering its visitors a window into the past through its impressive collection of historic vehicles. With the addition of the military Mercedes 170 and the Mercedes 230, the museum reaffirms its position as one of the essential destinations for motor and history enthusiasts.
